Information System:
Definition:An information system is a form of communication system in which data represent and are processed as a form of social memory, it can be a system which is considered as a semi formal language which support human decision making and action. So far we can say it is any combination of information technology and people's activities that support operations management and decision making. In a very broad sense, the term information system is frequently used to refer to the interaction between people, processes, data and technology.
Where and who use information system?
Information system is use in business. It served them to collect, process and store data. And the data is in the form of information needed to carry daily operation of business. It is used by people and everyone who works in a business company, from someone who pays bills or who makes employment decisions.
Information system can be divide into five sub-branch:
- Transaction Processing System (TPS)
- Decision Support System (DSS)
- Expert Support System (ESS)
- Management Information System (MIS)
- Office Automation System (OAS)
